However, we recommend checking FunCycles' schedule regularly. Sometimes, we may be listed as "open" but need to close due to poor riding conditions. For example, clear, sunny days following a period of continuous rain may look inviting but could result in very poor riding conditions.

If you come across a time slot marked "Open On-Demand," it means we are closed by default due to slower seasonal activity. However, the conditions may still be ideal for a quality ride. If you're interested, we encourage you to contact us a few days in advance. This will give us the time to monitor the weather and beach conditions, ensuring we can offer you the best and safest experience possible.

WHY RIDE IN THE WINTER?

The winter solstice brings several seasonal changes—shorter daylight hours, higher overall tide levels, shorter low-tide windows, king tide advisories, sneaker-wave risks, and generally wetter conditions.

That being said, when the conditions line up just right, winter can be an incredible time to explore Cannon Beach. There are fewer visitors, the skies can be beautifully clear, the cooler temperatures help keep riders comfortable, and things tend to move at a more relaxed pace here at FunCycles.
